Exotic Hair Show

Saturday, January 29th Club Roar opened their doors to two talented hair dressers that definitely put on a show. The models' hair were displayed in many different ways, it was amazing to see these pieces put together from scratch. From baskets covered with hair to custom made telephone with hair; it was quite impressive. Performances by Svet, Damaris, and Jose Santana was a great outlook and touch for the show. "Open your ears, and eyes for our next show," says Virmaris. So definitely look out for their next show on astylistlane.blogspot.com for further information. Future salon owner Virmaris Castillo (on left) and assistant Melinda Santos (on right) had the audience impressed by the creativity they displayed for their Exotic Hair Show. Their salon is going to be a thriving business here in Rochester, New York. Postings of their business number and location will be displayed once announced. Photos by Yuriys Photography.

His Bow Became Hers

Bows on her hair, bows on her neck, bows on her wrists, bows on her finger, bows on her ear, bows on her shoes, bows everywhere. Flashback: Remember when you were young and your mom use to buy you clothes with bows;
you wanted to get a pair of scissors and cut it off, oh and what about when she put them in your hair, they were definitely lost by the end of the day. Its amazing how trends come and go. I hated bows with a passion, yet it's funny how I have so many accessories with bows. They are coming back this year and are definitely here to stay for the upcoming Spring 2011. To your right, Charlotte di Calypso walks the runway at the "Resort 2011" for Christian Diors line. To your left, lady gaga sports a hair bow piece. The fashion designers are displaying on the runway every type of way to wear bows, so join the team. You can pick up this latest fashion hit in your major stores; H&M, Charlotte Russe, Wet Seal, Icing, Claires, and many more.

              Anything you can do, I can do better
                                                    I can do any thing better than you
                                          No you can't, Yes I can, No you can't, Yes I can
                                                  No you can't, Yes I can, yes I can

This extensive experience and knowledge I posess would not only allow me to promote ELF products as a "rehearsed spokesperson" but I believe I have further success to bring to the table. Forever Fashion 2011

"Forever Fashion 2011" at School of the Arts on January 14th. This showcase was by far one of the most creative performances I've seen SOTA put on, being that I was a former student whom graduated in 2008. The drive these students put on amazed me, the creativity these students displayed surprised me, and the dedication of time and effort to put on a great show blew me out my seat thirsting for more. Each and every category had an interesting concept and the students did an awesome job with designing their outfit according to the categories assigned. My favorites were "Think Green" and "Android." Student Government and Student Coordinators did an amazing job on putting on a GREAT show. Looking forward to see so much more in the upcoming years.

Bubble Up Fashion Competition

Saturday, January 14th, 2011, Heat Night Club on East Avenue hosted a "Bubble Up Fashion Competition." This consisted of chosen contestants to style a design using "Bubble Wrap." I myself participated along with Areli Diaz, one of my models. With the assistance of the Stylist 911 team members, Sarah Lilo Safura (Make-up) and Khadijah Dainae (Hair-Styling), we were able to take the title of "Winner of Bubble up." "It was such an amazing experience, I had a bag loaded with a glue gun, scissors, and tape." I was so sketchy on how this was going to actually turn out, starting piece by piece we developed a "master piece." I started off with cutting the bubble wrap into strips to have a tight fit around her stomach, trimmed around her bra to have a revieling yet classy top. I then cut a piece to add a one shoulder design, I tapped it tight to the back and loose as it fell over her shoulder to the front view, I added glue to the top to add a rippling affect. I then took left over strips of bubble wrap and glued it around her lower waist till it began to appear as a tutu look. Below is the image of Areli Diaz and her "Bubble Up Design."
